    DP Chemistry & Materials 
    ​ DP Visual Art collaboration 

    As part of the chemistry and materials unit, the collaboration with DP visual art is adding another practical application to the unit. The core ideas of the unit are taken and adapted from a EdX course which is referenced in the resources.  

    There are 2 main parts. Part 1, is all about colour in various patins and how to make and use these paints. 
    Part 2, is all about pottery, more specifically about the glazes and how the clay and glazes react in the firing process. 

    DP Chemistry & Cooking

    The Chemistry & cooking unit is centered all around the real world application of chemistry in the kitchen. There are so many chemical reactions happening every day in kitchens all around the world, but often without knowing the chemistry behind it

    Within the unit there are cooking practicals linked to better understand the following 3 topics   

    DP Chemistry & Industry
    CP Personal and Professional Skills collaboration - Aquaponics 

    The Chemistry & Industry unit includes a real world application project that allows for DP Chemistry students and CP students to collaborate to learn more about aquaponics. as well as set up and maintain an aquaponics system. 

    Whitin the unit different subtopics touch on different areas of the project,  discuss concepts and develop skills that are important to complete the transfer goal.
